Parents, students, staff, and community members are invited to participate in the nomination process for the 2026 Las Cruces Public Schools Principal of the Year. This initiative marks the third year that LCPS has recognized a Principal of the Year alongside its annual Teacher of the Year and Educational Support Person of the Year awards.
Eligible candidates must have served as a principal for at least two years. They should demonstrate exceptional skills in conducting instructional activities, possess a proven ability to manage and motivate faculty and students, and consistently promote student learning through innovative programs.
The announcement of the 2026 Principal of the Year will take place during the Celebration of Excellence Dinner on April 25. The event is hosted by the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation.
Each person may submit only one nomination. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2025. A link is provided for those wishing to nominate a candidate.
