Las Cruces seeks volunteers for high school mock interview event

The City of Las Cruces, in collaboration with Las Cruces Public Schools Career Readiness & Student Success and America’s Job Center, is seeking professionals to participate as interviewers in a mock interview event. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Las Cruces Convention Center located at 680 E. University Avenue.

In related news, the OIR Group will conduct its second community outreach meeting from 6-8 p.m. The City of Las Cruces Utilities Department plans to implement a new latch on trash carts within the next 18 months starting in 2025.

Additionally, planning efforts are underway for the W. Picacho and Motel Metropolitan Redevelopment Area, inviting community input. Meanwhile, Las Cruces Public Libraries is hosting "Palabras y Artesanias" (Words and Crafts), a series of poetry discussions and crafting sessions.

The Citizens Police Academy offers a tuition-free program introducing the community to the workings of the Las Cruces Police Department. The upcoming class is set to begin soon.

Spring openings are available at Alameda, Cesar Chavez/Sunrise, Jornada, and Loma Heights for $100 per semester with payment options available.

Residents interested in city operations can learn about traffic light control, ballfield maintenance, and City Council meeting organization through various programs offered by the city.

The City of Las Cruces continues efforts to revitalize neighborhoods around El Paseo and S Solano corridors between Lohman and University Avenues as part of their ongoing development initiatives.

Support for residents' career goals remains a priority through accessible workforce development programs that include skills training and job placement services.

Lastly, mark your calendars for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Plaza de Las Cruces downtown—a festive occasion open to all.
