Residents in the East Madrid Avenue area, specifically from Mesquite Street to Solano Drive, should be aware of a rescheduled water outage. Originally planned for March 12, 2025, the work by Renegade Construction has been postponed. The new date is yet to be announced.

The water outage was set to occur from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., affecting both residents and possibly adjacent areas. Affected streets will receive door hanger notices at least 48 hours before the scheduled outage.

Following service restoration, residents may experience discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. The City advises waiting to wash laundry until the water clears. Discoloration should resolve within 24 hours; if not, flushing all faucets for five minutes is recommended. Continued issues should be reported to the City of Las Cruces at 526-0500.

This issue affects City Council District No.1. For further details or assistance after hours, contact Utility Dispatch at 575/526-0500 or reach out to the Public Works Department at 575/528-3098.

"Although the water is safe to drink," noted city officials, "the City recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear."
