Rep. Gabe Vasquez, serving New Mexico's 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has recently shared updates on social media concerning fire restrictions, agriculture initiatives, and social welfare programs. Born in El Paso, Texas, and currently residing in Las Cruces, Vasquez is actively involved in addressing local and national issues.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Gabe Vasquez informed his constituents that "The Lincoln National Forest has implemented Stage 1 Fire Restrictions effective March 10, 2025 due to dry fuel conditions and elevated risk of wildfire across the forest." He directed followers to additional resources for more information on these restrictions.

Celebrating National Agriculture Day on March 18, 2025, Rep. Vasquez announced via Twitter that "Today, I hosted an agriculture advisory roundtable to unveil my four-bill agriculture package, focused on strengthening rural communities and giving New Mexico’s farmers the support they deserve." This initiative aims to bolster the agricultural sector within his constituency.

On March 19, 2025, Rep. Vasquez expressed concerns about potential cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). He stated that "Any cuts to SNAP are going to be devastating to those young kids who wake up every morning and wonder where their breakfast is going to come from." His remarks underscore the importance of maintaining food assistance programs for vulnerable populations.
