Police seek leads in Young Park shooting that killed three

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday night at Young Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to 14 others. The shooting took place around 10 p.m. on March 21, 2025, at the park located at 850 S. Walnut St.

The victims who lost their lives include two men aged 19 and a boy aged 16. Authorities have not released the names of those deceased or injured. The ages of the injured range from 16 to 36 years old.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, but police are actively pursuing multiple leads. Investigators are requesting that anyone with video footage of the event upload it to a secure site for review.

Individuals with additional information are encouraged to contact police at (575) 526-0795. The investigation is being supported by several agencies including the FBI, ATF, New Mexico State Police, and the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office.

As part of their investigation efforts, Young Park and its surrounding roadways remain closed temporarily.

In response to this tragic event, the City has partnered with the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico to establish a Crisis Action Fund aimed at assisting victims with necessary expenses.
