Citywide water restrictions for the spring and summer will begin on April 1, prohibiting the watering of outdoor vegetation from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during this period. According to the watering schedule, residents with even-numbered addresses can water plants on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while those with odd-numbered addresses can do so on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. No watering is permitted on Mondays.

The Las Cruces Utilities Water Conservation Program offers a 24-hour recorded voicemail Hotline at (575) 528-4444/TTY 711 for reporting water waste. Wasteful practices include watering on incorrect days or times, water runoff or ponding on properties, and not utilizing a bucket and shut-off nozzle for washing vehicles or pavements. Callers should provide details such as the day, time, location, or address when reporting issues.

Las Cruces Utilities urges residents to conserve water for future needs.

Alongside these restrictions, the Parks and Recreation Department will organize weekly hiking and walking events in April and May. Additional activities include the Lush and Lean program meant to help residents optimize water use in gardening.

Other initiatives by the City of Las Cruces include programs like Safe Digging Month in April to promote safe excavation practices, organizing professional interviews for high school students with various local organizations, and implementing a new feature on trash carts by the Utilities Department within the next 18 months.

Las Cruces Public Libraries will host creativity workshops named "Palabras y Artesanias," offering crafting sessions on topics like ancestry and identity.

The OIR Group, hired to audit the Las Cruces Police Department, is planning their second community discussion, and the Citizens Police Academy will run a tuition-free program to introduce the community to the police department's operations.

Las Cruces continues to plan for development in the W. Picacho and Motel Metropolitan Redevelopment Area and welcomes community involvement in shaping the future.
