The New Mexico State University Foundation has announced the 1888 Minutes of Giving campaign in conjunction with Founders Day on April 22. This event will run for over 31 hours, from 10 a.m. on April 22 to 5:28 p.m. on April 23. During this period, various activities will highlight the university's programs, notably the NMSU Rodeo team and NMSU Ballet Folklórico.

The event will involve students, faculty, staff, and community members gathering at multiple venues. Festivities will kick off with a parade from Hadley Hall to Corbett Center, featuring Dr. Sylvia Y. Acosta, CEO of the NMSU Foundation, NMSU President Valerio Ferme, deans, and student dancers from the Ballet Folklórico team. Other events include a trivia night on "The Office" series and a celebration at the Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum.

A significant aspect of the campaign will be fundraising efforts by student organizations such as the Ballet Folklórico dance team and the Rodeo team. These organizations will host performances and demonstrations during the event. Throughout April 22 and 23, students will also write thank-you notes to donors and donate canned goods to the Aggie Cupboard.

Dr. Sylvia Y. Acosta, CEO of the NMSU Foundation, along with other key figures such as Mayra Marquez, Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving, and Nikita Jacobs, Annual Giving Officer, will be available for media inquiries.

Contact for media is Nora Hahn, Associate Director of Advancement Communications, who can be reached at 575-319-4770 or via email at nora.hahn@nmsufoundation.org.
