DONA ANA COUNTY NM: County and IBWC Need the Public's Help in Keeping the River and Leeves Clean

Dona Ana County NM issued the following announcement on May 29.

Dona Ana County and the International Boundary and Water Commission have received complaints that residents have been leaving trash and other debris on the levees.  It is imperative that when you enjoy the areas around the Rio Grande that you respect this natural resource and do not litter or leave trash behind.

There are specific areas on the river that are designated parks where residents can walk, run, hike, ride horses and bicycle on the levee.  Other areas are restricted to the public.

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department will respond to complaints and concerns along the river.

Help preserve the areas around the river by being responsible and taking your trash with you and disposing of it properly.
