Doña Ana County issued the following announcement on June 04.
The Doña Ana County Roads Department requests drivers take alternate routes around Castillo Road, between Highway NM-28 and Highway NM-228, in La Mesa, until further notice.
A County utility vehicle accidentally hit an electric pole causing it to fall and block Castillo Road. An El Paso Electric crew in on its way to remove the post and ensure continued service to the area.
