City of Alamogordo issued the following announcement on June 11.
The Alamogordo Public Library began offering curbside pickup services June 1st. “The response has been overwhelmingly positive and patrons are loving the service,” said Library Manger Sharon Rowe. With more citizens checking out books, DVDs and audio books, it is important to ensure that materials are available to check out, which means the library needs patrons to return materials that are due back to the library.
The library appreciates everyone who has used the book drop, it has been open while they were closed and is the best way to return items during this time. Books, DVDs, and audio books all may be returned this way. During the closure, the library has been waiving overdue fines, but starting Monday, June 15, 2020 they will again begin charging overdue fines. There will be no fines charged for the period of March 16, 2020 to June 15, 2020. If there is a reason why you are unable to return your items at this time, please call the library at 575-439-4140, option 2, Monday through Friday so that they can work with you on an arrangement. Thank you and we appreciate your understanding as the library continues to move forward with their plans to support the needs of our community.
