Dona Ana County NM issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.
Doña Ana County Treasurer Eric L. Rodriguez mailed the 2020 Property Tax Bills and encourages taxpayers to use external payment options such as online, phone, or mail.
“For safety reasons, we ask everyone to use our external payment options, this year.” Rodriguez said. “Alternatively, our doors are open and taxpayers can pay in person.”
Rodriguez highlighted that the Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd., has more visitors, during the election season. “If you can wait to pay your property taxes in person until after Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, I strongly encourage you to do so.” There are no penalties for late payment, until Dec. 11.
In addition, Rodriguez said that the current pandemic has not affected the statutory deadlines for property taxes. “Property taxes are due, despite the economic downturn caused by this pandemic,” Rodriguez said. “These are much-needed tax dollars that will go to our schools, law enforcement and other essential services in our community.”
Citing safety and convenience as a priority for his office, Rodriguez said available payment options include:
By mail: P.O. Box 1179 Las Cruces, NM 88004
By Phone: 575-647-7433 or 1-877-827-7200 ext. 7433
