Is your trash container covered and secure? Unsecured trash can scatter on windy days. Scattered trash and illegal dumping is prohibited in Doña Ana County. Transporting trash in vehicles must also be covered or secured to avoid littering. A fine of up to $1,000 can be assessed for anyone who is found to scatter or distribute solid waste unlawfully.
