Hidalgo County Rescue was dispatched to a head on collision on Main Street about half a mile passed the Shakespeare cemetery. While en route dispatch advised 3 patients were still trapped in the vehicle, fire units arrived on scene and successfully extricated all 3 patients. Fire crews also set up 3 landing zones for 3 different medical helicopters that were called to scene. Fire crews then aided ems with patient transfer from ambulances to helicopters. There were no fatalities on scene.
