The County Clerk's Office has announced a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bureau of Elections Warehouse. The event is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, at 2821 Las Vegas Court in Las Cruces.

The new warehouse will replace the existing facility located on Lakeside Dr., Las Cruces, NM 88007. The upgraded building, spanning over 14,000 square feet, will feature dedicated spaces for storing voting machines, ballot boxes, and other election supplies. This enhancement aims to ensure efficiency and organization in handling these materials. It is projected that this improvement will bolster the overall operations of the Doña Ana County Clerk's Office and facilitate smoother execution of future elections in the county.

“This endeavor has been in the works for more than three years. I cannot express the excitement and energy that this groundbreaking brings to our office and the county. Having our legislators fully support us underscores their belief in our office, the Bureau of Elections, and Doña Ana County. We greatly appreciate everyone who has contributed their time and effort to this project,” said Amanda López Askin, County Clerk.

The groundbreaking event will host several dignitaries including Doña Ana County Clerk Dr. Amanda López Askin, Interim County Manager Stephen Lopez, Assistant County Managers, and various elected officials from the county. Special guests Senator Bill Soules and Representative Doreen Gallegos will also be present at the event; both have played crucial roles in advancing this initiative.
