Doña Ana County, New Mexico, announced that Lomas Avenue in the Del Cerro community will be temporarily closed starting May 27 as part of a Flood Commission project. The closure is to facilitate the installation of a storm drain structure and is expected to last for 45 days.

The closure will only affect traffic from Calle De La Cruz. Signage will be prominently displayed and a detour will reroute local traffic around the project area.

Additionally, Cristo Avenue, which has been closed since mid-February for the installation of a storm drain and concrete structure as part of the Lily Pond Project, is set to reopen before the commencement of work on Lomas Avenue.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving in the construction area and are encouraged to drive at reduced speeds. For any inquiries or additional information related to the road closure, individuals can contact 575-524-3551.
