The Centennial High School film team has secured first place at the Film Prize Junior New Mexico competition, winning the Best High School Thriller category for their short film, "False Realities."
Film Prize Junior New Mexico is a new initiative by the creators of the Louisiana Film Prize and Film Prize Junior Louisiana, in collaboration with the Stagecoach Foundation. The competition targets middle and high school students across New Mexico, allowing them to work with educators to develop concepts, craft stories, and produce short films. Participants receive support from experienced team members and film mentors.
Selected entries are featured at the film festival, providing young filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity while gaining valuable industry experience.
This year, Centennial High School's entry stood out with its compelling storyline. The premise of "False Realities" involves a series of mysterious deaths at a school. Following the sixth death in a month, reports emerge of deceased victims being seen around town. The narrative explores whether these sightings are mere false reports or indicative of something supernatural.
