The City of Las Cruces Housing & Neighborhood Services section has prepared a report detailing the activities and status of funds for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) for the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. This document, known as the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for the Program Year 2023 (2023 CAPER), is mandated to be submitted to HUD by September 30, 2024.
The 2023 CAPER is now available for a 15-day public review and comment period until Thursday, September 12, 2024.

In related community engagement efforts, high school students are invited to participate in an event titled "Realize Las Cruces Public Comment" on September 10, 2024. The event will take place from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Mesa Public Safety Complex's Main Conference Room located at 550 N Sonoma.
Additionally, a financial literacy program co-hosted by the City of Las Cruces and the United Way of Southwest New Mexico will offer workshops on budgeting skills.
Furthermore, The OIR Group, which was hired by the City of Las Cruces in 2021 to audit the police department, will conduct a community outreach meeting on Monday, August 26, 2024.
The Community Engagement program also aims to educate high school students about local government operations and resources that contribute to community improvement.
