Las Cruces prepares for annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony

The City of Las Cruces is set to host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will take place at Plaza de Las Cruces, located at 100 N. Main St.

This free event offers live music, giveaways, refreshments, food trucks, and activities for the whole family. Mayor Eric Enriquez will present highlights and memorable moments from 2024 before the Christmas tree is lit at 7 p.m.

After the ceremony, attendees can head to the Rio Grande Theatre for a screening of “The Muppet Christmas Carol” at 8 p.m. Admission to the movie is $5 per person, with doors opening after the tree lighting. The theatre is situated at 211 N. Main St.
