During Pink Week, the girls' soccer teams from Mayfield High School and Centennial High School joined forces to support a cause beyond the field. The teams united to honor a Mayfield player's mother who is currently battling breast cancer.

Centennial, hosting the match, allowed Mayfield to wear their pink uniforms as a tribute. Before the game began, players from both teams presented roses to the player's mother, acknowledging her bravery in facing her illness.

The Mayfield team also raised over $4,000 for the family to help them during this difficult period.

This event highlighted how sports can bring communities together. Despite being competitors on the field, these athletes showed compassion and unity. It served as a reminder that lessons learned in sports—teamwork, respect, and empathy—extend beyond just playing games.
