Paul Ford, the Coordinator of the Las Cruces Fire Department’s Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) program, has been awarded the 2024 New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Bureau Provider of the Year/EMT-Paramedic Award. This recognition was announced at the 11th Annual New Mexico Fire and EMS Expo, which took place from October 23 to 27, 2024, at the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy in Socorro.

Ford received this award for his efforts in educating EMT and paramedic students on navigating complex patients through the healthcare system. Dr. Benjamin Divin, Medical Director for the Las Cruces Fire Department, praised Ford's leadership: “Paul is a talented, dedicated and incredibly hard-working leader of the MIH program that he has initiated and built over many years.”

This recent accolade adds to Ford's list of achievements. In 2021, he was named New Mexico Public Citizen of the Year by the New Mexico Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. Ford has been with the Las Cruces Fire Department for 14 years and played a key role in establishing the MIH Program in 2017.
