Community Schools, Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at New Mexico State University, and Roadrunner Foodbank have joined forces to provide support for Las Cruces families in accessing nutrition resources. Aimed at assisting families with SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) enrollment, the initiative involves a student from Burrell College available to guide applicants.
The service is offered every Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Family Support Center. This opportunity is free of charge and available for families in the Las Cruces area. They can schedule a session to meet individually with a student who will assist them through the SNAP application process.
According to the collective statement, "Whether you're applying for the first time or need help renewing your benefits, we're here to help." Contact information for scheduling appointments is provided, encouraging families to reach out to the Family Support Center directly at 575-527-9562.
The partnership stresses the importance of taking action "to ensure no family goes without the food they need."
