Nov. 1 marks the Grill and Thrill BBQ showdown, hosted by Roadrunner Rally, inviting the public to support high school teams while enjoying food prepared by students. The event is scheduled at the Field of Dreams Baseball Complex, located at 2300 Tashiro Dr.

Student teams will begin setting up at 10:30 a.m., with grilling and smoking commencing at 11:30 a.m. The public is welcome from 4 p.m. onwards to taste some of the best BBQ in town and witness judging, which also starts at 4 p.m.

Attendees will receive three tickets each to sample dishes from their chosen stations and support their favorite high school team. Judges will evaluate participants based on their main dish, sides, dessert, and cooking stations.

The participating teams include Smokin' Bandits from Arrowhead Park Early College and Rio Grande Preparatory Institute; Feathers and Flames from Centennial; Grillenium Trojans from Mayfield; You Don’t Want This Smoke from Las Cruces High School; and Flaming Knights from Organ Mountain.
