The City of Las Cruces is seeking public feedback on the Realize Las Cruces Technical Manual. This manual is intended to aid design professionals and the community in applying updates to the city’s land use code, which has been developed as part of the Realize Las Cruces initiative.
The Realize Las Cruces project also involves an update to the city's zoning map, aligning with the vision outlined in the Elevate Las Cruces Comprehensive Plan. The aim is to modernize the development framework, making it more user-friendly and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The last major update to this code was in 2001, marking this as a significant milestone for Las Cruces.
Public participation is crucial for this initiative's success. Residents are encouraged to review the proposed manual and submit their feedback by December 31, 2024. Comments will contribute to shaping the final version of the technical manual, which is expected to be considered by the City Council for adoption in February 2025.
Both the Technical Manual and current draft of Realize Las Cruces are available at: RealizeLasCruces.com.
For more information about these updates or to provide feedback, residents can contact Sara Gonzales at (575) 528-3471 or [email protected]. Public input will help guide future development in Las Cruces.
