Las Cruces police seek public help after teen injured in park shooting

The Las Cruces Police Department is seeking information regarding a shooting that occurred near Frenger Park on Monday, December 30, 2024. Authorities are urging anyone with details about the incident to contact them.

The shooting was reported just before 6 p.m. on the 1800 block of S. Espina, prompting officers to respond to the scene at Frenger Park. A male teenager was injured in the incident and was initially taken to a hospital in Las Cruces for treatment. He has since been transferred to El Paso, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing. The police department encourages anyone with additional information to reach out by calling (575) 526-0795.
