The Quality of Life Department and the City Art Board are inviting the public to an open house event at City Hall. This event will showcase new art installations and is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be held in the lobby of City Hall located at 700 N. Main St., where light refreshments will be available.

Several artworks by different artists will be featured during the open house. Notable pieces include “Evening with Sunset Clouds” by Frank Watson, “Hollyhocks” by Vera Neel, “Worry” by Zoe Zimmerman, “Protected” by Shana Levenson, and “Desert Forms” by Thomas Tomlinson.

The acquisition of these artworks was facilitated through funding from New Mexico Arts’ Art In Public Places program. This initiative requires state-funded capital projects in Las Cruces to allocate one percent of eligible project funds for art purchases. The program is managed by NM Arts.

For additional details or inquiries about the event, Ceci Vasconcellos, Public Art Coordinator, can be reached at (575) 541-2780 or TTY 711. She is also available via email at [email protected].
