Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has announced important dates and information for incoming freshmen and current students regarding course selection and open house events.

For incoming freshmen, high school counselors will visit middle schools from February 3 to February 7 to assist with course selection using paper cards. Staff will collect these cards and provide details about the upcoming open house events, along with guidance on finalizing course selections.

The open house is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the designated high school each student will attend. This event offers an opportunity for families to learn more about available courses and meet school staff.

Parents and students can finalize course selections by visiting their child's school during the following times: Wednesday, February 12, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM; Thursday, February 13, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM; and Friday, February 14, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

LCPS will keep parents informed through Intouch messages, website updates, social media platforms, and communications via middle schools regarding the open house and course selection dates.

Current students will receive advisory lessons in January and February aimed at guiding them through the course selection process scheduled for February 13 and 14. School counselors are also prepared to support students affected by rezoning due to redistricting. They will ensure these students are properly registered at their new schools and have access to the necessary resources for selecting courses.

Families are encouraged to mark their calendars for these key dates as LCPS looks forward to welcoming them at the open house events and assisting with the course selection process.
