The Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free all-day program from March 10 to March 21, 2025, during the school spring intersession. The camp targets students in grades 6 through 12 and will be held at Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center located at 304 W. Bell Ave., from Monday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The program promises a safe environment with academic assistance, nutritional support in collaboration with Families and Youth Inc., various recreational and creative activities, guest speakers, and enrichment opportunities tailored for different age groups. Additionally, joint programming with Borderlands Family Ties is scheduled for March 17-21, featuring courses on coding skills and Zeen creation.

Parents or guardians are required to handle transportation for their children to and from the camp. Registration is currently open online at lascruces.gov/teens on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited spots.

In-person registration can also be completed during regular business hours at several locations: the Parks and Recreation Administration Office at 1501 E. Hadley Ave., Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center at the aforementioned address, and A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven at 906 N. Tornillo St.

For further details, interested parties can contact Teen Connection at 575-528-4235/TTY 711 or the Parks and Recreation Department at 575-541-2550/TTY 711.
