The Las Cruces Police Department has issued a warning to residents about potential fraudulent crowdfunding efforts following the recent tragedy at Young Park. Several fake GoFundMe accounts have been identified, allegedly exploiting the mass shooting incident to deceive donors.

Authorities urge individuals wishing to contribute through GoFundMe or any other crowdfunding platform to thoroughly verify the legitimacy of these campaigns before making donations. The police department advises reporting any suspicious accounts via the respective platform's reporting process.

To support victims and their families legitimately, the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico has launched a fundraising initiative known as the Las Cruces Crisis Action Fund. Details about this fund are available online.
