Citywide water restrictions in Las Cruces will take effect on April 1, limiting the watering of outside vegetation between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The annual schedule permits residents with even-numbered addresses to water their plants on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Those with odd-numbered addresses may do so on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Watering is not allowed on Mondays.

The Las Cruces Utilities Water Conservation Program provides a hotline at (575) 528-4444/TTY 711 for reporting water waste issues such as watering on incorrect days or times, water leaving the property or ponding, and not using a bucket and shut-off nozzle for washing vehicles or pavement. Callers are asked to provide details like the day, time, location, or address when reporting.

Las Cruces Utilities emphasizes the importance of conserving water for future needs. "Las Cruces Utilities encourages residents to use water wisely to conserve for future demand."

April also marks Safe Digging Month, reminding residents to call 811 for assistance with locating and mapping before digging projects.
