In response to the recent mass shooting at Young Park, several organizations are offering free services at a Family Assistance and Resource Center on Monday and Tuesday. The event is being held at the Las Cruces Convention Center for anyone affected by the tragedy, including victims, their relatives, or those present during the incident.
The center will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 24 and 25 at the Las Cruces Convention Center located at 680 E. University Ave. All services provided are free and available to residents of Las Cruces and Dona Ana County.
Transportation assistance is available through the Essential Services line by dialing 211, with Roadrunner Transit offering zero-fare transportation within Las Cruces.
Participating organizations include local police and fire departments, New Mexico State University Police Department, Families and Youth Inc., Southern New Mexico Community Foundation, Salvation Army, New Mexico Crisis Triage Center, La Piñon SAR, Catholic Charities, Heart for the World, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, NMSU Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Program, Little Footprints, as well as victim assistance programs from LCPD and FBI-Las Cruces office.
