New Mexico transit to receive $133 million in federal COVID-19 funds

Transit departments across New Mexico will share more than $133 million from the $2 trillion federal COVID-19 bill, according to a report on KOB4. 

The budget includes maintaining public transportation for essential services in both rural and urban areas.

Rural areas will receive $36,474,320 and the remaining funds will go to urban areas with the following breakdown of funds: Albuquerque ($79,845,589), Farmington ($2,161,017), Las Cruces ($6,026,321), Las Cruces/El Paso ($1,543,501), Los Lunas ($2,250,299), and Santa Fe ($5,315,047).
