66 percent of applicants to New Mexico State University-Main Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At New Mexico State University-Main Campus, 80 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Las Cruces enrolled 14,289 students in fall 2018, including 11,687 in undergraduate and 2,602 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

68 percent of undergraduates are residents of New Mexico, and 30 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (61 percent) and white (26 percent).

The school admitted 66 percent of the 9,635 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 36 percent enrolled.
