Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is organizing a free workshop on November 14, in celebration of World Usability Day. The event will focus on the use of 3-D printing for creating assistive devices.
World Usability Day promotes inclusivity and aims to improve the quality of life for everyone, including individuals with disabilities. During the workshop, various 3-D printed assistive devices will be displayed. Participants can explore a collection of patent-free files designed to aid people with disabilities. These include tools to hold a pen, open a soda can, or facilitate buckling a seatbelt.
The workshop is scheduled from 1-2 p.m. at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library located at 200 E. Picacho Ave. Library staff will be available to help attendees find suitable patent-free devices and demonstrate how to use the Makerspace 3-D printer for creating these aids.
For further details, interested individuals can contact Mindy Del Campo, Librarian, at (575) 528-4024 or via email at [email protected].
