Students from New Mexico State University's Department of Art are actively fundraising to participate in an international art jewelry event. The students, specializing in jewelry and metals, are selling handmade keychains and pins to cover travel expenses for the event scheduled in Munich, Germany, from March 12-16, 2025.
The department's students have crafted over 300 items to aid their fundraising efforts. Currently, they have raised just under $1,000 but require an additional $3,500 to reach their target. Supporters can contribute by visiting Instagram @nmsumetals or donating through the NMSU Foundation website.
This opportunity allows the students to showcase their artwork at one of the largest contemporary jewelry events worldwide. It includes more than thirty exhibitions and lectures.
"More than 10 students from the Department of Art are fundraising to attend the largest international event for contemporary jewelry in Munich," states a release from the university. Students participating include Jacob Cook, Victoria Trevino, Alexa Triviz, Isabella Sanchez, and Darcy Matthews.
To support these aspiring artists in achieving their goal, donations can be made online or through social media channels.
