The Arrowhead Center at New Mexico State University has opened applications for its C-Suite Sprint accelerator, a virtual program aimed at New Mexico tech startups. This initiative is part of the Scale Up New Mexico program, partially funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The accelerator targets entrepreneurs and startups looking to bolster their leadership teams and runs from June 5 to July 10.

Entrepreneurs interested in this free program must apply by May 23, with successful applicants being notified by May 27. The C-Suite Sprint is a critical component of Scale Up NM, which supports the growth of early-stage startups. It complements a range of services offered by the Arrowhead Center, including business development and commercialization support. The program is designed to provide startups with strategic guidance on leadership skills and executive decision-making, emphasizing the roles of CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and fractional executives.

Dana Catron, interim director of Arrowhead Center, said, “Programs like our C-Suite Sprint serve as vital catalysts in New Mexico’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, laying the foundation for cultivating leadership excellence across the startup landscape.” The program aims to empower leaders and foster transformative growth and innovation in New Mexico's business community.

Throughout the six-week program, participants will engage in sessions focused on understanding leadership roles within a startup. These include interactive discussions and feedback opportunities, enhancing strategies related to advisory relationships and board governance. Carlos Murguia, program manager for Scale Up NM, stated, “Our C-Suite Sprint is thoughtfully designed to equip startup leaders not only with the essential skills and strategies for success but also with a deep understanding of the complex dynamics between executive roles and corporate governance.”

Ashley Maguire, CEO of Helen’s Foundry and a member of the 2024 C-Suite Sprint, praised the program, saying, “I’ve participated in other accelerator and sprint programs, and I’ve been absolutely blown away by how well this one has been coordinated, planned, and communicated.”

Startups must be based in New Mexico or plan to relocate to the state to be eligible. Participants should commit to a weekly two-hour online session and be engaged in technology-driven innovation. For more details about the C-Suite Sprint, interested parties can contact Carlos Murguia at cmurguia@nmsu.edu or apply online.
