NMSU earns top spots in U.S. News' best online programs ranking

New Mexico State University (NMSU) has been recognized in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs rankings. The university secured multiple positions within the top 100 online programs, highlighting its performance in various fields.

NMSU's bachelor’s program in psychology tied for 25th place, while its bachelor’s program for veterans tied for 46th. The master’s program in criminal justice achieved a tie at 52nd place, and the bachelor’s program in business was ranked at a tie for 68th. Additionally, the master’s program in information technology was placed between 74-97, and the overall bachelor’s programs were tied at 84th.

Further rankings included NMSU's master’s program in engineering which was placed between 85-109, Master of Business Administration programs ranked at 202nd, and the master’s program in education positioned at 234th.

The rankings were based on an evaluation of more than 1,800 online programs across regionally accredited institutions whose offerings are primarily or entirely online.
