NMSU Global Campus is set to introduce a series of microlearning courses aimed at enhancing soft skills among professionals. These online courses are designed to help individuals develop essential interpersonal skills crucial for leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.
Andrew Sedillo, director of microcredentials instructional design at NMSU Global Campus, emphasized the importance of these skills in today's job market. "Soft skills are not just desirable, they’re essential in the modern workplace," he stated. "Employers value adaptability, emotional intelligence and collaboration just as much as technical ability. These courses provide learners with the tools to grow holistically and stand out in their careers."
The microlearning courses are structured for busy professionals who wish to improve their skill sets without major disruptions to their daily routines. Participants can engage with the content online at their own pace by dedicating just 15 minutes a day. The course offerings were developed in collaboration with Aggie Next Step and Bodyswaps.
Christophe Mallet, CEO and co-founder of Bodyswaps, highlighted the innovative approach of using AI-powered simulations in training. “We empower students and educators through realistic VR simulations and AI-powered feedback, creating impactful and accessible learning experiences,” he said. “Our mission is to transform soft skills training, making soft skills development engaging and effective.”
The available courses include "Career Readiness and Self-Discovery," "Leadership Decision-Making," "Teamwork, Collaboration and Communication," along with others like "Digital Responsibility" which is offered for free.
