New Mexico State University (NMSU) Global Campus is introducing a new course focused on the applications of artificial intelligence in public relations. This microlearning course, developed in collaboration with RealmIQ, aims to guide professionals in integrating AI while maintaining human interaction.
The course targets public relations professionals, business leaders, and communication specialists. It will explore AI's role in media monitoring, content creation, crisis management, audience engagement, personalization, and data analytics. The curriculum combines theoretical insights with practical applications and highlights ethical considerations. Participants will learn how to utilize AI effectively to enhance their strategic capabilities.
Course instructor Hailey Wilson stressed the significance of understanding AI's impact on brand perception. “Integrating technology into reputation management, particularly in the corporate world, can be challenging. With this course, I aim to share best practices from my 17 years in PR, combined with current AI strategies. My goal is to help people save time and avoid costly mistakes when navigating this new technological landscape,” she said.
Andrew Sedillo, director of microcredentials instructional design at NMSU Global Campus, stated: “At NMSU Global Campus, we are committed to providing accessible, high-quality education that meets evolving industry needs. AI is transforming the way we communicate, and this course is a valuable addition to our microlearning programming.”
Besides the AI Applications in Public Relations course, NMSU Global Campus offers other courses such as AI for Beginners and AI for Daily Life. These are designed to empower individuals to engage confidently in discussions about AI and apply their knowledge practically.
