Doña Ana Board of County Commissioners Salutes the Courage and Resilience of Survivors of Domestic Violence

The Doña Ana Board of County Commissioners salutes the courage and resilience of survivors of domestic violence and honor the work of ALL service providers and advocates who stand for safety and legislation that promotes dignity and justice for victims.

We honor the work of advocates like The Honorable Isabel Jerabek (pictured front row, right next to County Commissioner, Susana Chaparro) who served as Domestic Violence Commissioner from March 2015 through August 2022 in the Third Judicial District Court. Ms. Jerabek fought valiantly for the rights of domestic violence victims, including the recognition and proper justice for perpetration of other types of abuse that do not leave physical marks, such as financial/economic abuse and emotional abuse.

Let's talk about how we can all contribute to changing the narrative on this topic, then build on that conversation to raise awareness, increase donations and volunteer efforts, to deepen our community engagement.
