Spitz Street residents in Las Cruces will face a water outage on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The City of Las Cruces Water Department is planning to replace a fire hydrant at the intersection of Spitz Street and Rena Mae Court during this time.

The outage may impact those living near Tonja Court and Rena Mae Court. This maintenance work is set to take place in District 4, which is represented by Councilor Johana Bencomo.

Residents might experience discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although safe for consumption, city officials advise waiting until the water clears before using it for laundry purposes.

The discoloration should resolve within 24 hours. If not, residents are encouraged to flush all faucets in their homes for five minutes. Should the issue persist, they can contact the city at 575/526-0500 for assistance. The TTY phone number is 575/541-2182.
