Several Doña Ana County Residents Recently Received Fake Notices Claiming Taxes Are Owed to Doña Ana County

Several Doña Ana County residents recently received fake notices claiming taxes are owed to Doña Ana County, the State of New Mexico or the United States Government.
The notices appear official and claim to originate from local, state or federal government agencies. They can be fake telephone calls, letters or emails notifying taxpayers that they owe taxes and their property will be seized, unless a payment plan is arranged.
Official notices from the Doña Ana County Treasurer’s Office can easily be verified online or by calling the office directly. Additionally, official tax notices include a QR code that directs taxpayers to the County’s website where taxpayers can find specific information about their taxes.
For more information, please call 575-647-7433; toll-free 1-877-827-7200 ext. 7433; or visit www.donaanacounty.org/treasurer.
