Las Cruces firefighters responded to a residential fire on Salvia Loop early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on November 4, 2024, at the 4200 block of Salvia Loop. Upon arrival, the first crews encountered fire and heavy smoke emanating from the home's attached garage.
Firefighters quickly entered the premises, tackled the blaze, and managed to control it within 15 minutes. The fire was successfully contained to the garage area.
A search of the home revealed no occupants inside at the time of the fire. It was later discovered that one resident had been present when the fire began but was alerted by a functioning smoke alarm and exited safely. No injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The damage to the property is estimated at $75,000.
