The City of Las Cruces is inviting residents aged 18 and over to participate in the 2025 Neighborhood Leadership Academy. This program offers a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes view of city operations through a 12-week course.
Online registration for the academy will be open from November 4 to December 27, 2024. The sessions will run from January 8 to April 2, 2025, with classes held every Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at various city locations. A graduation brunch is scheduled for April 7, followed by a recognition ceremony during the City Council meeting.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of city management through various sessions. Topics include City Clerk, Legal and Audit; Police Department and Fire Department; Financial Services & Budget; Quality of Life; Economic Development; Parks and Recreation; Community Development; Utilities; Human Resources and Information Technology; Communications and Community Engagement; Public Works; Transit, Airport, and Fleet.
