Election Day Is This Tuesday

Election Day is this Tuesday, November 8 and approximately 32,800 voters have already cast ballots in-person or via absentee in the 2022 General Election! Approximately 35,900 voters had participated by this time in the 2018 General Election.

More than 40 polling locations (or Voting Convenience Centers) will open at 7:00 a.m. and remain open until 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 8. Any voter still in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Registered voters who have successfully applied for an absentee ballot can return their completed absentee ballot at any of the available secured container locations throughout the county, at the County Clerk’s Office, as well as at any of the Voting Convenience Centers on Election Day. Absentee ballots must be submitted by 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 8, and voters may track the status of their absentee ballot online at NMVote.org

Same day voter registration will be available at all Election Day locations. To register or update your registration on Election Day, you will need a New Mexico driver’s license or New Mexico identification card issued through the Motor Vehicle Division of the Taxation and Revenue Department; or any document that contains an address in the county together with a photo identification card; or a current valid student photo identification card from a post-secondary educational institution in New Mexico accompanied by a current student fee statement that contains the student’s address in the county.

Unofficial results for this year’s general election will be available after 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 8, at the New Mexico Secretary of State’s website: www.sos.state.nm.us. All results remain unofficial until after their certification by the state canvass board later in November.
