From November 30, 2022 post.
Frank Dodd joined Doña Ana County on July 26, 1994 as a seasonal Rural Address Technician in the Planning and Mapping Department. That same year, he was promoted to Geographic Information System Technician I.
By 1997, the Community Development Department had been created and Frank was promoted to Mapper/GIS Technician. In 1998, he took on an interim role as Acting GIS and Mapping Section Supervisor. Then he took on a role as GIS Specialist in 1999. In 1999 and 2007, he took on temporary assignments as GIS Administrator until those roles were permanently filled.
In his current role as a GIS/Mapper Analyst, Frank produces maps and maintains GIS webpages. He even wrote a look-up application for the desktop GIS. His supervisor, Christina Ainsworth said Frank is such a great asset to the Community Development team that he will be greatly missed.
Frank’s team said he is a great chef who makes mouths water at potlucks, especially with one of his specialties, the DeBragga Wagyu ribeye steak. Frank is often described as “a very giving person who is always willing to help anyone” in small and meaningful ways. Once, though it was the end of the day, he took out his air compressor and filled a tire to help a co-worker get home to El Paso. Away from work, Frank is restoring a 1948 Harley Davidson and is known to enjoy good cigar.
Please join us in sincerely thanking Mr. Frank Dodd for his commitment to our community during his 28 years of public service! We congratulate him on his upcoming retirement and wish him the very best on this next phase of his life.
