From December 14, 2022 post.

Houshang "Housh" Solhjoo joined the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office as a Court Security Specialist on call on October 23, 2002. He was promoted in 2006 to DASO Lead Court Security Officer, which is his current role. His primary duties focus on the security of the judges and the public. He prides himself in directing the flow of people in and out of the courthouse and ensuring there is a deputy assigned to each court room.

His supervisor, Sgt. John Signore said Houshang knows every square inch of the courthouse, as well as every part of its daily operation and is as committed to his profession, as he is to the department. Houshang goes above and beyond his duties, daily and goes out of his way to share his knowledge and train newly hired employees. He enjoys being complimented on a job well-done and is proud of what he does, while continuously seeking to improve.

He is known for being a caring and thoughtful person who shows up early and makes the first pot of fresh coffee for everyone. Houshang enjoys keeping a positive attitude every day and being known for making savory Iranian dishes for lunch that he shares with his co-workers.

While off-duty, he enjoys hitting the gym, hiking, bike-riding, and spending time with Mr. Duke, his 2-year-old German Shepard.

Please join us in thanking Deputy Solhjoo for 20 years of caring service and commitment to Doña Ana County and our residents.
