Doña Ana County's District 5 has been abuzz with various programs and projects aimed at improving the community's well-being and infrastructure.

The Community Centers in the district have been hosting informative sessions as part of the "Topic of the Month" program. One such program is "Diabetes Conversations," focusing on diabetes management and occurring monthly with a new topic each time.

Regarding the strategic direction of the county, a county representative emphasized, "The True Purpose of Our Plan is to See Our County Thrive as a County, there are Vital Conditions we can influence and improve. There are Urgent Services that we can fund and be a bridge builder for our community. This is our way forward."

In recognition of its financial accountability, Doña Ana County was awarded the Accountability Award for Large County Audit Achievement for Fiscal Year 2022 at the 2024 New Mexico Legislative Conference.

For residents in need of assistance, the Doña Ana County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) continues to accept applications for rental and utility aid, catering to those negatively impacted by the Covid pandemic.

Infrastructure projects in the district include the Northern County Broadband project and the Salem Tower project, both aimed at enhancing connectivity and public safety. Additionally, sidewalk installations and street lighting initiatives are underway to improve pedestrian access and community safety.

With a focus on community well-being and development, Doña Ana County's District 5 is making strides to create a more vibrant and connected environment for its residents.
