Pumpkin Palooza is returning to the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center. The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

In addition, the City of Las Cruces invites residents interested in learning more about the city to attend the “Know Your City Seminar Series.” The Art Bus Shelter art exhibit is also seeking artists, with opportunities for art to be featured at one of six bus shelters in Las Cruces.

Recently, an open house for the Griggs Walnut Ground Water Plume Superfund was held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 153 N. Cottonwood St., near the intersection of Griggs.

The city is conducting a corridor study for University Avenue from I-10 to I-25 and encourages residents to provide their input on what they would like University Avenue to look like.

There will also be a multi-day workshop focused on envisioning the future of the El Paseo and S. Solano MRA area. During this workshop, various design ideas will be explored.

The City of Las Cruces Housing & Neighborhood Services section has prepared a report on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) activities.

High school students interested in understanding how city departments impact daily life are invited to learn more about what makes the city function.

Public comments for Realize Las Cruces will be accepted on September 10, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Mesa Public Safety Complex's main conference room located at 550 N Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

Residents can also learn financial skills with sessions hosted by the City of Las Cruces and United Way of Southwest New Mexico. Topics include creating a budget and sticking to it.

Lastly, the OIR Group, hired by the City of Las Cruces in 2021 to audit the police department, will host a community outreach meeting on Monday, August 26, 2024.
