Award-winning film screening hosted by PFLAG Las Cruces and public libraries

PFLAG Las Cruces and the Las Cruces Public Libraries are hosting a film screening at the Rio Grande Theatre. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the film starting at 6 p.m. The movie, released in 2005 and rated PG-13, will be shown as part of this community event.

The library's online calendar provides further details about the film, which features a storyline where a drag queen assists a man in diversifying his inherited shoe factory's products to sustain the business. The cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Joel Edgerton, and Sarah-Jane Potts.

This film has received multiple nominations including British Independent Film Awards, a Golden Globe, a London Critics Circle Film Award, a Black Reel Award, and a Black Movie Award. It also won an Audience Award for Best International Feature at the Florida Film Festival.
