A 33-year-old man was fatally shot on Wednesday evening at a residence located in the 800 block of Holly Street, Las Cruces. The incident took place around 9:48 p.m. on October 2, 2024.
Las Cruces Police Department officers responded to a shooting report and discovered the victim with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to investigators from the Criminal Investigation Section, there is an indication that the deceased and the resident of the home were previously involved in a relationship. The specifics of their relationship and the motive behind the shooting are still under investigation.
The identity of the deceased will not be disclosed until his family has been notified.
